Welcome to The Superintendent Charles Gaughan Memorial Field for Radio Control Flight

The South Shore Radio Control Club was established in the mid-1960's to promote radio-controlled aircraft, or R/C.
Over the years, the club has maintained its flying field on the grounds of the Bridgewater Correctional Facility, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The facility has been very generous and courteous in permitting us to fly there for all these years.
In 2006 the field was officially named "The Superintendent Charles Gaughan Memorial Field for Radio Controlled Flight".
Charles Gaughan was instrumental in securing the location for the SSRCC and paved the way for a very successful relationship between the SSRCC and the Bridgewater Correctional Complex. The dedication ceremony took place at our annual "Great New England Scale Fly-In"
and included members of the Superintendent's family.
